A Difference You Can See
In our own bird comparison, we pitted a commercially-raised 'pastured' broiler against one of our own. Note the striking difference in the appearance of the organs: hearts, livers, and gizzards. Which chicken would you say lived a healthier lifestyle?

In our second comparison, we pitted our pastured poultry broiler against a well-known commercial brand's family roaster. The quality of our bird was amazing in comparison! The big name-brand bird was a big blob of chicken flesh. (We referred to it as Jabba.) Its ribs and hip joints were broken so it wouldn't even 'sit up' in the pan--overall a very poor presentation, especially with multiple slash marks all over the breast side of the bird (visible in the photos). After handling their bird, we were too grossed out to even consider eating it! (Our dogs did appreciate it, though!).
